MONTEBELLO, CA - Punjabi Dental Society held a conference on ‘Medical Emergencies in the Dental office’on June 25 at Quiet Cannon, here. Dr Hardev M. Singh was the guest speaker. Dr Singh has served as a commissioned dental officer in the U.S. Army. He was awarded the Army Service Ribbon,
Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal and was given the Army Commendation medal. After serving the Army, Dr. Singh is currently Assistant Professor at Western University. Speaking to the gathering, he stressed medical emergencies can occur in the dental office at any given time, and dentists need to understand how to handle them effectively. The ability to handle a medical emergency in a timely fashion is critical, and it comes from understanding and skill. The meeting was attended by over 800 dentists from all over California. Dr Nagra, chairman of the Punjabi Dental Association requested members to be a part of organized dentistry and work closely with local politicians to safeguard the future of dentistry. Dr Salwan, president thanked all members for making the Punjabi Dental Society over 5000 members strong.
