YORBA LINDA, CA. - Indian- Americans and Southland community members joined hands to honor Congressman Ed Royce for his relentless service to the US and the International community. the US National Anthem. Bill Beribault, President, Richard Nixon Foundation welcomed the guests and praised the contribution made by Royce at the legislation level by introducing many bills on various domestic and international issues. Dr. Krishna M. Reddy, Chairman of the Indian American Friendship Council Reddy thanked Royce for his valuable service on international issues related to India. He pointed out that the Congressman had traveled to India with President Clinton’s delegation. He was honored by the Indian Government with the highest National Award. Royce also went with a special delegation to Gujarat at the time of the devastating earthquake and offered help to the Indian government. He said Royce was very popular among the Indian American community. He never missed attending the Indian Republic Day, as well as the Independence Day celebrations year after year. Reddy thanked Royce for his continuous help to India and Indian Americans as a champion of U.S. – India relations.
Christopher Nixon Cox presented `The Champion of the American Dream Award’ to Royce. Nixon lauded Royce for the successful contributions made by him specially as Chair of the India Caucus, where he grew the Caucus from eight members to nearly 180 members of Congress, where it is today the largest Caucus in Congress.
