BUENA PARK, CA - Anekant Community Center hosted a free health fair in conjunction with the Jain Center of Southern California on Mar 24. This was the 29th annual health fair. BUENA PARK, CA - Anekant Community Center hosted a free health fair in conjunction with the Jain Center of Southern California on Mar 24. This was the 29th annual health fair. non-Jains and almost 30% non-Indians. A large number of patients took advantage of dental services. Mammograms, PAP smears and blood works were also done. Around 110 patients had their eyes checked and 24 were given free eyeglasses. Doctors in a variety of fields like dentistry, internal medicine, nephrology, urology, podiatry, gastroenterology were available for consultation.
A presentation was made by president of JCSC Dr. Jasvant Modi and Anekant Community Center president Mahesh Wadher, Dr. Ramesh Kothari, the coordinator of the health fair, Manu Shah of Sarva Mangal Family Trust and Dr. Nitin Shah who spoke on behalf of the Lestonnac Free Clinic.
Helping hands were provided by ABC school led by Karen Denis, students from KGI pharmacy school in Claremont, USC School of Pharmacy, Indian Pharmacists Association lead by Tapsaya Desai and many dedicated volunteers. Niranjan Bhatt led volunteers to perform blood tests. All volunteers were served breakfast while lunch was provided to all volunteers and patients donated by Minaben Lavingia.
