In the 19th century this was predominantly an agricultural region, of citrus, dairy farms, and wine making. Now it is more residential, industrial and focussed on commercial development.
Pawar believes that GOPIO’s strength lies in the inexhaustible resources of Indian-Americans.
She believes that she has but one lamp by which her feet are guided and that is the lamp of experience and her heartfelt devotion and dedication to the community.
“As we commence this new chapter, with enthusiasm, strength, and unity, the essence of the organization will be to do some charity work for our community here in the U.S. and also in India.”she said.
She plans to make the new chapter the biggest and the most productive chapter in the history of the GOPIO.
