peace in a world that has become increasingly strife ridden. With around 80 people in attendance, the program began with the garlanding of Gandhiji’s statue led by Gunvant and Ila Mehta of the Indian American Senior Heritage. The group then lit candles and offered prayers of universality.
Guests were then ushered into a seating area, where many stood up to speak about how Gandhiji had inspired people and the practices he followed in life which led to the independence of India and made him a world figure. The event was ended with sumptuous lunch.
