IRVINE,CA-The group Our Indian Culture celebrated the spirit of patriotism by bringing together the Indian-American community from various cities, to celebrated the 71st Independence Day of India on August 19 here. OIC founder Akshita K. Sharma, along with other team members, felicitated Farrah N. Khan, Executive Director,
Newport Mesa Irvine Interfaith Council. OIC’s commitment to imbibe and celebrate Indian culture was showcased in the main highlight of the event, the ’Incredible India Fashion Show.’ The show depicted the diversity of India in the traditional attires worn across different states of India. Many local dance schools, participated in the event. The performances ranged from classical forms like Kathak and Bharatnatyam to Bollywood inspired fusion dances. The program included a kids fancy dress show with patriotic and Krishna Janmashtami theme and vocal singing.
