LOS ANGELES, CA – Bappi Lahiri a Bollywood icon and the original “Bling King of India” released his latest hit albums “Bappi Lounge” and “God Is One” on Aug 16 during a special celebration at Yamashiro Hollywood. The album launch was attended by musical celebrities including Motown greats Freda Payne...
and Scherrie Payne, who was formerly with the legendary group The Supremes. The album “Bappi Lounge” features ten contemporary songs with international flair including the title track “East Meets West” and “Indian Palace” on which Bappi Lahiri plays the tabla and sings along with his mother from her original recording of a classical thumri folk song in 1992.
The EP “God Is One” has three songs including the title track “We Are One” featuring Indian gospel singers and themes about love and unity. Both albums were written and co-produced by Bappi and his son Bappa Lahiri, and recorded at B9 Digital Studios in Mumbai, and mixed and mastered by Jill Tengan at Rusk Studios here. They are released by Planet LA Records.
