on her appointment. CEO of the Chamber Scott Smith congratulating Badhwar said,``Many thanks for supporting the local business community and I look forward to working with you.’’
Badhwar is the Marketing Manager of Cerritos-based firm Chugh LLP.
Speaking with India Journal, when asked how she would contribute to the Chamber, Badhwar said, ``My main interest to join the Board is to give back to the community which has been my second home since I joined the Chugh firm in 2004. The Chamber’s goal is to help create a positive environment where businesses can thrive, and I will work with the Chamber towards their mission. Chugh, LLP supports a lot of non-profit organizations and always encourages its employees to help wherever possible.’’
As Cerritos is home to a fairly large Indian-American population, Badhwar said one of her goals would be to educate the community about the Chamber and encourage them to join, in case they are not part of it.
``Cerritos has a mix of businesses but the big money generators are the mall and auto square, as per my knowledge,’’ Badhwar explained. Asked how the Chamber promotes and enhances business in Cerritos, she said,`` The Chamber hosts a lot of events each month providing ample time and opportunities for businesses to interact, know and help each other. In other words, generating business for and from each other. What they are pitching for is `Shop Local.’’’ Badhwar graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Guru Nanak Dev University, Jalandhar, Punjab. She also has an MBA specializing in Marketing & HR from New Delhi Institute of Management. As Marketing Manager at Chugh, LLP she is primarily responsible for developing, implementing and executing strategic marketing plans for the organization which includes all its offices in the US, in Los Angeles;Santa Clara; Edison, NJ; Atlanta,GA; Reston,VA; and Washington,DC .
Chugh LLP provides corporate, tax, litigation, immigration, employment, media & entertainment, M & A, and business strategy & coaching services to emerging growth and mature companies. It has a staff of 650 employees with 184 attorneys and CPAs.
