State Senator Tony Mendoza installed Shah and the other Artesia Chamber Board officers, and thanked the Chamber for promoting businesses in the City and “for making Artesia a better place for businesses and residents alike.”
Shah was proud of the partnership the Chamber has with the City, and he especially wanted to talk about last year’s signature event—the 1st Annual International Street Fair & Diversity Festival where more than 30,000 attended to enjoy the food, beverages and products from more than fifteen nations. Non-stop entertainment, displaying the many talents of these countries, was performed on two stages set up on Pioneer Boulevard.
Shah is confident that the Chamber and the City will have an even more successful Street Fair this year. More than 100 vendors participated or sponsored last year’s event. Also planned again for 2015 are the popular State Lunches co-hosted by the Artesia and Norwalk Chambers with local officials as keynote speakers including Congresswoman Linda Sanchez, State Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia, Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe and Artesia Mayor Miguel Canales. Also installed were Chamber Vice-President Felix Lopez, Secretary Larry Caballero and Treasurer Pao-Ling Guo.
