A strong advocate for LGBT rights as well as HIV/AIDS education and prevention, Prince Manvendra faced outrage when he came out in India where “homosexual acts” are punishable by up to 10 years in prison. He now supports LGBT individuals in India through his community-based organization, The Lakshya Trust. The Prince will continue to work alongside AHF as the AHF Ambassador in India and Impulse Group Ambassador. Gohil is the crown prince of Rajpipla in Gujarat.After he came out openly in 2006 he was disowned by his family, but after he traveled the world to tell his story and appeared on the `Oprah Winfrey Show’ in 2007, he was accepted back into the family.
