NORWALK,CA-The Asian Indian Seniors Association (AISA) held a musical evening with Kirit Kanodia and Party at the Sanatan Dharma Temple here on December 19. Than it was Deena Sharma, turn to regale the audience with “Koi Nahi Hai”sung by Lata Mangeshkar and “Aaja Aai Bahar” also sung by Lata Mangeshkar. From older songs the singers switched to more recent tracks. Bharat sang “Tum Hi Ho” from Aashiqui 2.
The three singers took turns coming on stage to sing various songs enjoyed by the audience.
“Muskurane Ki Wajah Tum Ho” sung by Bharat was initially sung by Arijit Singh from the film “CityLights.”
Prior to taking a break, the singers came together to sing a medley of older songs. The mix consisted of “Aaj Kal Tere Mere Pyar Ke,” “Aaja Aaja Main Hoon Pyaar Tera,” “An Evening in Paris,” “Chahe Mujhe Koi Junglee Kahen,” “Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu,” and “Iinaa Minaa Dikaa.” The medley caused an uproar of cheering and whistling along to the beat of the songs. The last song in the mix brought three brave souls to the dance floor as Sharma and Bharat sang the famous song originally sang by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle from the film “Aasha.” Kirit then called on stage Naresh Patel, President of AISA, to say a few words.Patel asked all the committee members to join him on stage as well as their spouses to thank them for their dedication that made events like this possible. Continuing with more music, Kirit and Sharma sang three Gujarati songs,which caused the audience to cheer, scream, and whistle. Bringing the audience back to today’s generation of songs, Bharat sang “Suno Na Sangemarmar” originally sang by Arijit Singh, and “Bheege Hont Tere” initially sang by Kunal Ganjawala from the movie “Murder.” Doing an amazing performance, the audience screamed requesting an encore which Bharat compiled to doing. Sharma continued the night by singing one of the newest releases in Bollywood,”Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” which was originally sang by Palak Muchhal. Then it was time for duets, “Kya Khoob Lagti Ho,” “Bekhudi Mein Sanam,” “Ek Do Teen Aaja Mausam Hai Rangeen,” “O Mere Dil Ke,” “Yeh Lal Rang,” “Lag Ja Gale,” and “Ghunghroo.” This mashup was highly enjoyed by all those in attendance. After singing a few more songs from various eras, the singers came to together to end the program with, “Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.
