
The Sri Siva Kameswari Temple celebrated Maha Shivaratri for an entire day on Feb 13. Celebrations started in the morning at 6 am with the chanting of ‘Om Namah Shivaaya’ and continued into the wee hours of Feb 14 morning. Chandrashekhar Sharma Samavedula, the head priest, five special ‘abhishekhams’ were conducted throughout the day, wherein the Shiva Lingam was offered ‘panchamrut’, fruit nectar and rice, ‘vibhuti’, turmeric and milk respectively. Approximately 800 devotees visited the temple and prasad was served throughout the day.
