
IRVINE,CA - Rakshabandhan, which is traditionally a celebration of the bond between brother and sister, was extended further to the community by the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh USA, in the name of Universal Oneness Day. Irvine Nagar shakhas-Netaji Shakha, Krishna Devraya Shakha and Niveditha Shakha, celebrated the Utsav and honored firemen and police officials on Rakshabandhan Utsav on Aug 26 with about 135 people in attendance.
Raju Guttula Ji, Sambhag sewa pramukh, firemen and policemen attended the event. The need to reach out to the community with the message of sharing a bond of protection was stressed.
Chief Guests, representatives of Fire Department and Police Departments also expressed their views and lauded the efforts of HSS for bringing the community together and for celebrating this Utsav as a community event. The kids gave out handmade greeting cards made by them along with a flower and tied rakhis on the guests. Later all those present tied rakhi on each other. The function concluded with delicious snacks served to all.
