
LOS ANGELES,CA-Kaur and Singh Academy of Los Angeles,a local non-profit organization that teaches children music, kirtan, Punjabi, and Gurmat Studies won third place in the 11th Annual International Hemkunt Keertan Darbar competition on July 26. their respective Gurdwaras and institutions. The students of KSA LA were amongst some of the youngest in their age category and won beating out 11 other teams. Mokhanter Singh (8,) Sarab Singh (10), Makheer Singh (11), Amar Singh (13), and Gurnit Kaur (14) played traditional instruments like the Dirluba, Taus, Tabla, Swarmandal, and Harmonium. The team was trained by Harlove Singh , a dedicated lead trainer, assisted by Dilruba teacher Manjeev Singh and tabla teacher Sukhwinder Singh. The 1st and 2nd place winning teams were from New Jersey, NJ.
