NORWALK, CA - Hosanna International Church held a healing concert led by Pastor Vijay Benedict and his son Reuel Benedict on June 24 and 25 here. their songs and delivered the word of God to the gathering. Delivering the sermon that came from the Gospel of Mark in the Bible, Pastor Vijay informed the audience that when Jesus Christ was in Bethany at the home of Simon the leper, a women came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on Jesus’ head. Some of those present questioned the waste of this expensive perfume, when she could have given the money to the poor. They rebuked her harshly. But it was then that Jesus made a call and asked all to leave the woman alone. He said that she has done a beautiful thing for him.
Pastor Vijay quoted the Lord Jesus- “The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial. Truly I tell you, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.” Pastor Vijay also released his new CD, which was released by the senior Pastor David Masih of Hosanna Church after a short prayer. Interestingly, earlier Pastor Vijay was a Bollywood singer, but later started singing for Jesus. Telling his story to IJ, Vijay stated, “One day God’s spirit spoke to me and said to leave the industry and sing only for the Almighty. So, now I travel all around the world to worship the Lord Jesus.”
The event was a huge hit with the audience which also saw the youth of Hosanna International church singing for the Lord Jesus.
The regular service of the church is held every Sunday at 6:00pm in Norwalk. A Bible study takes place every Wednesday between 8:30-9:30pm. Dinner is served on both days- Wednesday and Sunday for attendees.
