WALNUT, CA- The 409th Martyrdom Day of Guru Arjan DevJi was solemnly observed at Gurdwara Sahib Walnut, on July 4. The Sangat of Southern California attended the 10 hour long program. The program started with kirtan asa di var and was followed by melodious kirtan and katha. There were a total of 20 raagi jathas. The student jathas of Gurdwara Walnut, Baba Preet Academy, Buena Park, Canoga Park,

and Pacoima performed kirtan. A special invitee was Dr. Gurnam Singh, head of the department of Gurmat Sangeet Punjabi University, Patiala. He performed melodious kirtan on the basis of Gurmat Sangeet. The program was highly appreciated and liked by all. Bhai Amarjeet Singh of Chandigarh, also performed katha and gurmat vichar. There were several stalls offering food. Guru Ka Langar Sewa was done by brothers S. Mandeep Singh and S. Dilbagh Singh. The program was ably conducted by Hanwant Bir Singh Sawhney.
