Radha Raman Temple Holds Bhoomi Poojan

PLACENTIA,CA - Devotees of the Radha Raman Temple here dreamed of building a new temple; and worked hard to achieve this. Sikh Boy Reads Pledge of Allegiance at Swearing in of Phoenix Mayor

​PHOENIX, AZ - The Sikh Community here was once again in the limelight when a six year old Sikh boy , Anaik Singh Sachdev, the grandson of Dr. Jaswant Singh Sachdev, was contacted by Kate Gallego, the recently elected Mayor of Phoenix, to read the Pledge of Allegiance at her inauguration ceremony. Over 1,000 Phoenicians had gathered on March 21 morning at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Phoenix to witness this grand event.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Several senior US lawmakers greeted Sikhs on the occasion of Vaisakhi and lauded the community’s contributions in the economic development of America. “Today is a historically significant day for our Sikh neighbors across Texas,” Senator John Cornyn tweeted, as Sikhs and Indian Americans celebrated Vaisakhi across the country. Sikh Prayer Offered at AZ State Education Board Meet

PHOENIX, AZ – Dr. Jaswant Singh Sachdev  was invited by the Arizona State Education Board to offer a Sikh prayer. A prayer of about 3 minutes was said at the start of  the session on Feb. 25 at the Board head office in downtown Phoenix  by Sachdev in the presence of all Board members as well as other attendees present to take part in the meeting. Sikhs Donate $11,000 to TSA Employees in Phoenix

PHOENIX,AZ- A group of about 50 Sikhs ranging in age from five years to 80 plus years gathered at Sky Harbor International Airport here to donate gift cards worth  $11,000 dollars to the TSA employees who continued on their job taking care of passenger safety during the government shut down despite interruption in paychecks. Anneeth Kaur Hundle Appointed to UCI Endowed Chair in Sikh Studies

IRVINE, CA – Anneeth Kaur Hundle has been named the Dhan Kaur Sahota Presidential Chair in Sikh Studies at the University of California, Irvine School of Social Sciences. The $2 million endowed chair – housed in the Department of Anthropology, was created in 2017 with a $1.5 million gift from Drs. Harvinder and Asha Sahota and $500,000 from the UC Presidential Match for Endowed Chairs program, according to a press release.
