colorful traditional clothes to recreate an atmosphere of rural Punjab. Chief Guest Dr. Sudeep Kukreja was recognized for his selfless service through Arpan Global Charities. A special recognition award was given to Prof. Ranjit Singh of Bhai Mardana Institute of Music and Dr. Harvinder Sahota for their continued contributions to the community. Nearly 200 participants of all ages presented 25 performances including bhangra, skits, giddha, Bollywood dance sequence and songs. The youngest performing group All Star Bhangra, comprised of 5-6 years old kids. Other groups like Epic Bhangra, Waaris Punjab De, Super Smash Bhangra, Golden Punjabi Bhangra Crew, Furtheelay Jawan, Much Phut Gabroo, Moorniyan Da Swag not just thoroughly entertained the audience but also won their hearts. The Valley Sikh Temple teams - Punjabi Virsa and Nachde Sitaree amazed the audience with their awesome performances. Walnut Girls Bhangra presented power-packed and invigorating dances. Adaa Dance Troop showcased Bollywood dance sequences with fusion choreography.
The highlight of the event was Malvai Giddha of SoCal Gabru Nation. This style of folk dance was originally presented by the men of Malwa region of Punjab which included teasing in folk poetry. Coach of the group, Makhan Sandhu, while talking to IJ said they used four folk instruments in their presentation including Dufly, Bugchu, Chimta and Kaato.
Team moms and coaches were recognized for their tireless efforts. The PCC Working Committee comprising of Iqbal Grewal, Sharmila Sidhu, Rita Patel, Snover Uppal, Amanpreet Kaur, Navjot Singh, Baljit Grewal, Navneet Kaur, Shivani Gill, Rameet Dhaliwal, Pooja Goel, Lucky Sidhu, Ranjit Playeh and Shallu Goel thanked the sponsors, guests, coaches, participants and volunteers for making the event a success. A delicious dinner was provided to all after the show.
