“The U.S. - India Business Council appreciated the observations and anecdotal insights that Representative Bera shared with member companies following his recent trip to India. Along with important perspectives expressed by Sandhu, Deputy Chief of Mission Embassy of India, the audience enjoyed an interactive discussion that validated the important aspects of the trade relationship between the United States and India. All agreed that the potential for growth – and notably job creation – in both countries is enormous and that the U.S. and Indian governments remain committed to strengthened two-way trade,” said USIBC Executive Vice President Diane Farrell.
“The US-India partnership has undergone a fundamental transformation over the past two decades,” said Sandhya Satwadi, Director and Head, CII-North America. “While there are some immediate challenges on both sides, often times the cacophony surrounding short term concerns drowns out the reality of the strength of the partnership. CII therefore urges all stakeholders to keep the larger picture of the relationship in mind. There are emerging opportunities in sectors like health, clean energy, defense, infrastructure, and agriculture that require renewed focus and engagement from both sides. This is imperative for job creation in both countries. The US-India relationship is for the long haul and CII and its members remain committed to it. Congressman Bera has emerged as a true champion of this critical partnership and CII was delighted to support his visit to India.”
