VANCOUVER - Akshay Kumar has been picked to carry the Olympic Torch for the 21st Winter Olympic Games to be held in Canada from February 12 to 28, 2010.
The 42-year-old star is a martial arts expert and practitioner who was recently bestowed with the highest Japanese honor of the ‘katana.’ He has been a brand ambassador for 2 Special Olympics and his recent 1st invitational Open Karate Championship was a huge success.
Fifteen International celebrities have been invited to Canada for carrying the Olympic Torch which starts its long journey through Canada from Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, to host city, Vancouver.
The torch bearers will be introduced to the Canadian PM.
