WASHINGTON, D.C. - Noting that the ties between the US and India has come a long way in the last one decade, an influential US lawmaker has said that the two nations have only “scratched” the surface of the potential of partnership.
“Our two nations have only scratched the surface of our potential for partnership. India and America share common interests and values,” Senator John Cornyn, said in a statement issued to congratulate the 10 years of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Houston.
“India is an anchor of stability in Asia. We share democratic values -– including individual liberty, pluralism, and the rule of law,” said Cornyn who is the Co-founder and co-chairman of the Senate India Caucus.
“We recognize the power of trade, investment, and the entrepreneurial spirit to create opportunity. We condemn terrorism, extremism, and all the ideologies of hatred,” he said.
Cornyn said: “Like the Indo-American Chamber, the partnership between our two nations has come a long way over the last 10 years.” (PTI)
