LOS ANGELES,CA - Over the last two years, Smile for a Cause, has been hitting the streets of Skid row in downtown Los Angeles, helping the vast homeless population. On Nov 26 volunteers who received support from companies such as Boeing, Smart and Final, and Morgan Stanley handed 3,000 meals, 600 pairs of shoes, $5,000 worth of toys, $1,000 worth of supplies to cancer patients, and 400 pairs of socks to the homeless. Smile for a Cause has made its mark in the community,

working with organizations like Boy Scouts of America, For the Child, and the Whittier Police Department, what started off as a small community service project has evolved into something much greater. “We also like to put an emphasis on the kids of our community. It’s important to teach them these core values so that they can become functioning members of society. This is why our main cabinet is comprised only of kids, we want to teach them about leadership and compassion,” say Sajan Goyal and Rohan Jain who are presidents of the organization. “I saw how much the people of downtown Los Angeles needed help. I decided to do something about it. I didn’t want a birthday celebration, I wanted to help other people,” explained Goyal, “Our first event was a huge success, people kept on asking me if they can join in too. I realized the sheer amount of people who wanted to be involved in charity work, but had no outlet to do so. That’s when the idea hit me, I should make this into anon-profit,”
