Seniors Enjoy Music, Dance in Norwalk

NORWALK, CA- Indo American Senior Heritage hosted its 12th annual Diwali celebration on October 22, at the Sanatan Temple  here with over 300  people in attendance .President Jagdish Purohit welcomed all with Diwali well wishes.The main event started with the lamp lighting ceremony by the chief guests...

Ganpat and Manju Patel who  were joined by Manu & Chandrika Shah and Suru Manek. The music program started with a prayer after which the musicians took over with Bollywood hits old and new  including ghazals, classical and contemporary numbers. Towards the end they changed to dance music  when young and old were on their feet and dancing the Garba and having a time of their life. During the short break, everyone was treated to masala tea and snacks and had time to mingle and exchange Diwali wishes. Music for the evening was provided by  the well known Ramesh Kumar Bharti (Tabla) of international fame, and singers Neal Kumar Bharti  and Ami Mehta. The IASH Board of Directors recognized all three artistes with Certificates of recognition and a shawl for their services. IASH Vice President Jiten Patel thanked the gathering for their participation and support. Earlier in the evening,  all guests  enjoyed a delicious Diwali dinner and sweets
