Said SAN Board Chair Sayema Hameed, “The event is such a great community builder. It’s great to be able to celebrate SAN’s work in the community and promote health and fitness among South Asians.”
Among the highlights this year was the International Women’s Day activity. Participants were encouraged to share the meaning of International Women’s Day through words and photos. “We were so pleased to incorporate International Women’s Day into our walk/run this year,” stated Manjusha Kulkarni, SAN’s Executive Director. “It gave us an opportunity to thoughtfully consider the challenges and struggles faced by immigrant women in our community.” “And like last year, participants celebrated heath through physical activity as well as the cultural celebration of Holi. You couldn’t ask for a better combination.”
