LOS ANGELES, CA – Viasakhi Mela 2015 drew hundreds to the Hansen Dam Soccer Field on May 16 to enjoy an evening of music and fun. Miss Pooja, Ammy Virk, and Gitta Bains were the talents being presented at the event hosted by.the Festival of India Association and the Punjabi Heritage and Cultural Society.
LOS ANGELES, CA – Viasakhi Mela 2015 drew hundreds to the Hansen Dam Soccer Field on May 16 to enjoy an evening of music and fun. Miss Pooja, Ammy Virk, and Gitta Bains were the talents being presented at the event hosted by.the Festival of India Association and the Punjabi Heritage and Cultural Society.

The night began with an opening act by Harry Singh who sang a few songs to rev up the audience for the musical trio that was to follow. He kicked off with ‘Agg Banke’ featuring Dholi Amar and produced by DJ Scorpio and Rene Van Verseveld, DJ Scorpio’s Bruin Bangra Anthem ‘Kina Sona’ featuring Harry Singh and Raju Dholi, previewed songs that are to be released ‘Sone De Sitare’ and ‘Nain’ by DJ Scorpio and Nain.
Gitta Bains then took to the stage to perform his popular hits . Dressed in a casual and relaxed attire he launched off with ‘Roj Shaam Nu’ and some ‘Boliyan.’
Bains had great stage presence and moved in all directions on the stage. Bhangra dancers from the group ‘Got Bhangra’ joined him on stage and together they had a blast. Then it was time for Ammy Virk to regale the audience with fast paced up-beat songs he is recognized for. Virk came on stage wearing a more traditional Indian attire: Some of the hits he performed were ‘Bullet vs. Chamkila,’ ‘Fan of Babbu Mann,’ ‘Yaar Mere Amli,’ as well as a couple ‘Boliyan.’
During his performance, the ‘Got Bhangra’ dancers once again came on stage to dance to the beat of his music.
Finally, the moment the audience had been patiently waiting for had arrived. Miss Pooja came on stage wearing a white long sleeved floor length dress that had a thick stripe of bright pink at the bottom to the cheers and applause of the crowds.
She sang some of her hot favorites - ‘Seeti,’ ‘Desi Jatt,’ ‘Pajero,’ ‘Romantic Jatt,’ and ‘Aashiq.’ All of her songs were welcomed by the cheering and whistling of the audience members who were loving every moment of the night. Her presence on stage was like none other.
Not only did she move from side to side of the stage to include the entire audience, she danced to her songs. The Bhangra dancers joined her in bringing the songs to life.
Responding to all the excitement on stage the audience members could no longer be restrained to their seats. They took to the open spaces of the football field to dance along with Miss Pooja and the ‘Got Bhangra’ dancers.
The night came to a close after all three artists came together on stage for an ensemble trio of talent singing, dancing and ending the evening on a high note. Earlier in the evening, a large number of booths, specially food booth did brisk business. Kids too were kept entertained with games and jumpers
