in the lives of individuals and families affected by domestic abuse in the South Asian community.Reshma Block, SAHARA President, began by welcoming all guests and solidifying the importance of SAHARA’s services. City of Artesia Mayor Pro Tem Miguel Canales and Councilmember Ali Sajjad Taj were present. Taj cut the ribbon to kick-off the picturesque 5k walk. Over 180 people joined in for this fun-filled event. The day was composed of several healthy activities such as free yoga and Bolly zumba classes, nutritional information and education sessions, followed by the lakeside 5k walk, community lunch and bingo, arts & crafts table, and free raffle prizes and giveaways.
Surati Farsan Mart sponsored a delicious breakfast and lunch. Tina Khan donated raffle prizes for the bingo. Anjali Desai, Manisha Sulakhe, Aakansha Maheshwari and the DEVIS Dance Group led yoga and bolly zumba classes while Vivian Ortega donated her photography services to capture memories of the event.
