professionals donated their time. In two days, 179 patients were helped with dental work, 520 with eye glasses, 278 flu shots were administered, blood tests were conducted on more than 900 people, 74 mammograms, 192 echo cardiograms and 150 bone density assessments. For the second year, OOCORD, hosted a citizenship clinic, offering help start the process or getting applicants over obstacles in becoming a U.S. citizen. More than 200 immigration lawyers and other volunteers provided free help.
Founding Partner Anekant Community Center’s President Mahesh Wadher thanked the Convention Center and the City of Anaheim for giving them an opportunity to set up the event year after year.
Harry Sidhu former Anaheim Councilman expressed his special thanks to all, ensuring the continuation of this important community event in Anaheim. Anaheim City Council Member James Vanderbilt said, “events like these make me extremely proud of our city.” Among the special guests wasCongressman Lou Correa, who noted, “Health care is a major issue for all of us. So, everything you did is so important.’’ He recognized all the volunteers and sponsors.
