
CERRITOS, CA -The Chugh Firm celebrated Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary on Sept.30 with guests gathering to pay homage and to spread the message of world peace and non-violence. Brinda Gandhi, attorney at the Chugh Firm welcomed all. Several speakers including Haren Mehta from Ohio, Prakash Achrekar, Ram Kakkar and Mahesh Mehta spoke of Gandhi’s contributions to India and the world.

Kewal Kanda, GOPIO-Int’l Treasurer, expressed disappointment at Gandhi never having received the Noble Peace Prize while all who followed his principles of non-violence were accorded that honor. Prof Keshav Patel said he and his family had worked with Gandhiji.
Attendees then proceeded to offer flowers at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi which is located on the Chugh firm grounds at the corner of Carmenita Blvd and Alondra Blvd. The ceremony concluded with a prayer followed by a sumptuous lunch.
