NORWALK, CA - Tulsi Gabbard, from Hawaii’s second congressional district and only practicing Hindu Congresswoman, visited the Sindhu Center here on Nov 16. She was received by its officials Chairman Kumar Bhavnani, President Hari Dadlani, administrator Kishan Hingorani and other members of the community.
NORWALK, CA - Tulsi Gabbard, from Hawaii’s second congressional district and only practicing Hindu Congresswoman, visited the Sindhu Center here on Nov 16. She was received by its officials Chairman Kumar Bhavnani, President Hari Dadlani, administrator Kishan Hingorani and other members of the community.
She was given a brief historical background of the Sindhi community and their travails at the partition of India. Representing SoCal Sindhis has been the Sindhi Association of Southern California which was formed in 1987 and the Sindhu Center, purchased in 1997 has been a home away from home with many community activities organized regularly in the temple.
Gabbard in a brief speech congratulated the Sindhi community on their achievements and she reminded them of their great religious heritage. She admired Lord Krishna and His teachings as given in the Bhagvad Gita. Dr. Hiro Badlani and Mohan Dadlani presented her books on Hinduism and Sindhi culture.
