MILPITAS, CA - Consul General of India, San Francisco, Ashok Venkatesan, addressed members of several Indian- American community associations based in the Bay Area on Oct 13 at the India Community Center here, briefing them on the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas (PBD)-2017, to be held in Bengaluru from January 7 to 9.
MILPITAS, CA - Consul General of India, San Francisco, Ashok Venkatesan, addressed members of several Indian- American community associations based in the Bay Area on Oct 13 at the India Community Center here, briefing them on the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas (PBD)-2017, to be held in Bengaluru from January 7 to 9.

About 80 Indian-American community leaders representing various associations attended the event. At the outset, the CGI welcomed all the participants and gave a presentation on PBD-2017. He emphasized on the background and importance of PBD for NRIs and gave various details regarding the PBD convention- including the structure, schedule and program of the event, the subjects for panel discussions, method of registration. He highlighted that attending the event would provide a great opportunity for all NRIs to share their knowledge, experience, and wisdom on various issues concerning NRIs world over, in addition to meeting several dignitaries and professionals.The CGI lauded PBD as being a wonderful platform for mutual benefit for NRIs and Indians, and requested all NRIs to consider registering for the event at the earliest and attending it. He also requested the media to give wide publicity to the event.
