Gujarat aka Dwarka Eye Hospital, a free eye hospital that serves the rural areas of Dwarka and surrounding regions. Around $25,000 was raised to support the cause. With “Krishna” in 2013 and “Under the Bunyan” in 2015, this is the third time Rangashree Dances of India has hosted this duo, both Kalakshetra alumni. ‘ Narayaneeyam’ blended live music composed by Rajkumar Bharati and verses from Narayana Bhattadri’s “Narayaneeyam”.
Seamlessly weaving moments from this great work into an intricate Bharathanatyam production, Shijith and Parvathy demonstrated perfect chemistry in their dance and brought to life the pure poetry of this work on stage. The event was attended by many local artists, bringing together Bharatanatyam dancers and musicians from all over Southern California.
