LOS ANGELES, CA -It was a magical evening on Nov 18 when Virgelia Productions hosted its 29th Annual Beauty Pageant at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center. This sold out event had contestants from all over the US. The pageant categories included Miss, Teen, and Mrs. for the Asia USA and Latina Global crowns.

This sold out event had contestants from all over the US. The pageant categories included Miss, Teen, and Mrs. for the Asia USA and Latina Global crowns.
Alka Patel from Cerritos was among the many participants representing India in the Mrs. Asia USA category. She won the crown for Mrs. India USA.
The event began with each contestant parading in their national costumes. Patel wore an Indian outfit designed by Rohini Bedi. A group dance by all the participants followed. The final category for all contestants was the glamorous evening gown competition. Patel wore a stunning blue evening gown design by Shail K. Special awards were given in various areas. Patel won the “People’s Choice Award.” The event concluded with the crowning of the queens in the various categories. All participants were dressed like queens for the final crowning ceremony. Patel is a former president and treasurer for The United Federation of Indo-Americans of California (UFICA).
