Punjab’s Harvest Festival Satisfies the Palate

Baisakhi is celebrated by farmers in Punjab as a deserved time of joy for an agricultural year gone well. Whole villages and communities come together and rejoice. The fresh harvest is cooked to celebrate the festival. The feast commences with Sikh celebrants visiting the local gurudwara. After prayers, the celebrants have communal Baisakhi meal at the gurudwara called the guru-ka-langar.
