“In the first seven months of current fiscal year, 2013-14 exports to Europe and the US have increased in comparison to the corresponding period last year,” said Minister of State for Commerce and Industry E.M. Sudarsana Natchiappan in the Rajya Sabha. “Exports to the USA have not declined in the previous three years. However, exports to Europe had shown slight decline. But exports to European countries in 2013-14 have shown improvement.”
“Government has identified certain markets under the focus market scheme (FMS) in the foreign trade policy. Such identified markets include countries from Africa, Latin America, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEANs),” Natchiappan added.
