Epley was ordered to be held on a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 17. The suit alleges that Epley was driving a Ford F-150 truck at the time of the crash and was negligent when the truck struck Shah.
Epley failed to keep a proper lookout for a pedestrian, operated his vehicle at an excessive rate of speed, failed to sound his horn before the crash, and among other things, failed to render aid to the injured party, according to the suit. Shah is survived by his wife and three children, the suit said. The two-count suit seeks an undisclosed amount in damages.
