NORWALK, CA – A cultural show marked Diwali celebrations bringing community members together on Oct 15 at the Sanatan Dharam Mandir here hosted by the India Association of Southern California. Charu Shiva Kumar and Nila Parikh shared highlights of Diwali celebration in their home states. They all agreed that Diwali is national festival and enjoyed and celebrated all over India. The program started with Lord Ganesh and Goddess Laxmi puja by committee members and guests. Puja was performed by PrakashPancholi followed by Ganesh Vandana by Laxmi Shad.A classical dance was rendered by Jasmin Shiva Kumar in veneration of the gods. Aparna Hande presented a slide show of the five days of Diwali celebration which was specially geared to the youth to understand the importance of each day of the festivities. This was followed by a cultural program of classical and Bollywood dance, music and songs in which many of the youth took part. Ravi Vishwanath gave vote of thanks and extended best wishes for Diwali . A sumptuous lunch followed.
