to capacity hall of over 650 people who were kept mesmerized throughout the evening. The show was directed by Ram Seshan, while Alka Rao was the presenter and emcee. It was fascinating to see how an abstract theme was brought to life by the creative dance directors. There were 14 dances and each interpreted the theme in a special way, giving the audience a chance to witness a spectrum of manifestations of the common theme. Some of the highlights were an Indian classical dance titled “Varshaa” (rain) celebrating the magnificence of rain and the importance of conserving water and natural resources in order to preserve the harmony of the environment especially in Southern California. Another fusion dance called “Zoe” told the story of cyclical balance between creation and destruction and explained the cycle of life formed as a result of harmony and balance on Earth. Congressman Scott Peters presented a certificate of special Congressional Recognition to the San Diego Indian American Society congratulating Ram Seshan and the committee along with 150 performers.
