RIVERSIDE,CA -Members of the Seniors Group of Inland Empire celebrated Diwali on a grand scale at the Lakshmi Narayan Temple here on Nov 6. Despite their age the volunteers actively worked hard in beautifully setting up and decorating the deities in new costumes in the temple. All the seniors were dressed in their best attire and were in a festive mood. The members of the Senior Center participated enthusiastically in singing bhajans. Music was provided by the volunteer artists.
Women dressed in beautiful Indian attire presented a Garba dance which was very much enjoyed by the audience.
The celebration included potluck lunch with delicious home cooked food including many kinds of mouth watering sweets specially prepared for Diwali. The Director of the Senior Center Mahendra K. Verma on behalf of all seniors thanked Aruna Vij, Ashok Taneja and all members and devotees for attending and participating in the Diwali function.
