After Facebook, Google disables app that collected users' data: Report

SAN FRANCISCO - After Apple revoked Facebook's iOS developer certificate for using an app that closely tracked some users data, there was another app from Google that also monitored users' data on their smartphones. According to a TechCrunch report late Wednesday, Google has now disabled the app called "Screenwise Meter" that let the company track data and traffic usage on smartphones of users who agreed to that.

CHENNAI - Beverages major Coca-Cola India on Friday expanded its Minute Maid product range by launching a grape fruit based sparkling drink branded as Colour, said a top company official. People in Tamil Nadu towns and villages used to call soft drink 'Colour'. Coca-Cola India has branded its new grape juice sparkler as 'Colour' to resonate with the local lingo. He also said the company would launch a new product in Andhra Pradesh that would be branded under a similar philosophy.

YouTube to remove share activity feature

SAN FRANCISCO - Video-sharing giant YouTube has announced that it will kill the feature that allows users to automatically share their YouTube Activity on micro-blogging site Twitter after January 31. Twitter currently allow users to share their YouTube activity via options such as going to YouTube Settings, then to Connected apps and choosing "Share your public activity to Twitter". Instead, the platform is urging users to share videos on social networks directly from YouTube via the Share button.

Apple provided users' data on Indian government requests

NEW DELHI - The Indian government asked Apple to provide information regarding 27 devices and 18 accounts in the January-June 2018 period, with the company providing data in most of the cases owing to an iTunes Gift Card fraud investigation. The number of requests from India -- in various formats such as subpoenas, court orders, warrants or other valid legal requests -- also included 34 financial identifiers and three emergency requests, Apple said in its bi-annual transparency report released late Monday.
