Artesia Shopping Fest Draws Star, Crowds

Crowds milled around Artesia while fans thronged to meet the television star.

ARTESIA, CA – Star Plus, one of the major Indian TV channels, in association with Touchdown Media, held the Artesia Shopping Festival on Dec 8 and 9 in Pioneer Blvd., “Little India” here.  Powered by DISH Network, the festival brought a warm vibe in the community.

The festival was open from 1-7 P.M. and all the major merchants on Pioneer Blvd. had great discounts on jewelry, clothing, restaurants, beauty salons and many other things.

Rahul Walia, founder of Touchdown Media, said that this was not the first time they had organized such kinds of events. Adeebah Khan, one of the Star TV’s team members’ said that they are planning to bring in some more TV stars over the summer.

Heartthrob of millions of Star Plus viewers all over the world Sanaya Irani (Khushi) of the famed show “Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?” was the main attraction of the festival. People waited patiently in line for 45 minutes to an hour to see their favorite actress. Young and old alike were eager to meet with her. When asked what they like most about Khushi, people said that the love-hate relationship between the two lead actors on the show and their chemistry was the main thing that attracted everybody to the show.  They also said that they were sad that the show had come to an end but they are looking forward to some more good work from the actress in the future.

Dressed in a pretty yellow and white churidaar suit, Sanaya Irani looked stunningly beautiful. She stayed at the booth set up by the organizers for a little over an hour constantly smiling, signing autographs and taking pictures with her fans. It was amazing to see such a huge fan following of the actress. People presented her albums of her pictures so that she could autograph those for them.

Sanaya Irani’s presence definitely made the whole festival one of its kind. Merchants too reported brisk sales on the weekend.
